Hooters Presents $2,500 Donation to Girls in the Game as part of Chicago Wolves “Score For Charity”
For the second season in a row, the Chicagoland area Hooters Restaurants teamed up with the Chicago Wolves for their “Score For Charity” program. As part of the partnership, the Chicagoland area Hooters locations selected the non-profit Girls in the Game. Every time Wolves Nikita Pavlychev scored a point during the season, Hooters donated towards this initiative. Pavlychev had 25 points which resulted in a $2,500 donation. The donation will support year-round sports, health and leadership programs for girls across Chicago.
Representatives from the Aurora, O’Hare, Wells Street, Lansing and Oak Lawn Hooters locations had the opportunity to present Girls in the Game with a donation of $2,500 on July 15 at an event at Moore Park in Chicago. HMC Hospitality Group employees who volunteered and participated in the event and check presentation include Hooters Calendar Girls Yusra Shaikh (Aurora), Juliana Garcia (Aurora), Mikayla Flanagan (O’Hare), Shannon Bankston (Wells Street), Juliana Erazo (Lansing), Jocelyne Serna (Oak Lawn) and Marketing Manager Stephanie Martinez. They were joined by representatives from the Chicago Wolves and Girls in the Game for the presentation and event which included various stations focused on physical and mental health activities.
“Girls in the Game is very appreciative of the continued support of Hooters. Their contribution will allow us to continue our year-round sports, health and leadership programs for girls across Chicago, helping us to ensure that we can continue to reach over 3,000 girls a year during a challenging funding landscape. Partners like Hooters and the Chicago Wolves are perfect examples of the example that we try to set for girls. Their support is more than financial. They volunteer and spend time with the girls directly, providing positive role models who demonstrate how to have fun and work as a team. Whether it’s a summer camp, after school program or one-day event, Girls in the Game knows that we can count on the support of the incredible team at Hooters,” said Dawn Kobel, Girls in the Game Director of Development and Communications. Girls in the Game uses a model that encourages girls to participate in non-competitive sports to learn valuable life skills such as confidence, teamwork, leadership and more. “We are thankful for the opportunity to sponsor the Chicago Wolves Score For Charity program for the second year in a row.
